North American Regional At-Large Organization (NARALO) Successfully Held Its General Assembly at ARIN39

NARALO held its fourth General Assembly (GA) on 3-5 April in New Orleans, USA, on the sidelines of the ARIN39 Public Policy Meeting. A Plenary session was held on Wednesday, 5 April, during which members discussed policy development and North America Strategic Plan and had an interactive session with the ICANN President and CEO Göran Marby. Four breakout sessions were also organized to identify policy issues important to the North American region and their potential impact on end-users. A number of keynote speakers attended the GA sessions, including ARIN CEO John Curran, ICANN Ombudsman Herb Waye, ICANN Board Director Ron Da Silva, and several ICANN Senior Staff members. In addition, NARALO members actively participated in ARIN orientation, workshop, and public policy sessions, and leveraged the opportunity to reach out to potential members at the NARALO booth. NARALO was established in June 2007 with a humble beginning. Its membership has grown from the initial 10 At-Large Structures (ALSes) to today’s 29 ALSes and 19 individual members. In 2015, NARALO established a Memorandum of Understanding with ARIN, and this collaboration has enabled NARALO to hold its GA during ARIN39. More information
