Background

Universal Acceptance (UA) means that all software applications support all valid domain names and email addresses. This study focuses on the technical details for the systems used by registries and registrars to manage domains under generic top-level domains (gTLDs). This work follows-up on the white paper The Role of Country Code Top-Level Domains (ccTLDs) in Achieving Universal AcceptanceOpens a new window, published by Asia Pacific TLD Association (APTLD) in collaboration with ICANN org, and may generally apply to the ccTLD registry and registrar environments as well.See public comment in icann.org
