ALAC Advises on the FY17 Operating Plan & Budget and Five-Year Operating Plan Update

In the Statement responding to this public comment proceeding, the ALAC noted the improvements in clarity in the FY17 Operating Plan & Budget in comparison with the ones in past years. However, the ALAC pointed out several areas where clarification is needed. This includes the operational responsibilities of the Post Transition IANA, Strategic and Operating Planning related expense, and programs and projects under Support Operations. Furthermore, the ALAC suggested ways to improve data presentation related to the Community Support Requests and the New gTLD Program Variance Analysis. In addition to this Statement, the ALAC also submitted a formal Proposal requesting ICANN to establish a multi-year budget to facilitate the forward planning of Regional At-Large Organization General Assemblies and At-Large Summits. The Statement and the Proposal went through multiple rounds of iteration after soliciting feedback from the wider At-Large Community.
