Description

  1. Is your organization constituted so that participation by individual Internet users who are citizens or residents of countries within the Geographic Region in which your organization is based will predominate in your organization's operation?
    Yes.
  2. Describe your organization's constituents/membership (number, citizenship/location, defining characteristic - e.g. profession for professional societies):
    Anais.AC is a regional non governmental organisation dedicated to social appropriation of ICTs. It covers actually - countries ( Cameroon- Chad- Gabon - Central Africa Republic- Congo and RDC). It's part of Euro-African network Anais, present in 11 african countries.

    After advocating and advising decision makers on ICTs appropriation, the Cameroon national branch is in the process of lunching a network of Out of School Capacity Building Centers, dedicated to high potential Out of School from poor neighbourhoods in cities. 20 such centers are planned, and in two years or so, we will start setting such centers in the others central africa countries.

    There is no requirement. The only criteria is to be Internet centered and ready after training if needed, to explore it potential.

    We make information available to people through our network, we use boards and from time to time media.

Objectives

Advocating and advise on social appropriation of ICTs. In that regard, the organization has lunched a quarterly newspaper titled "Le d�fi num�rique". Participation to broad constituencies dedicated to ICTs in Africa. ICTs Capacity building.

    Help to build a knowledge society in Africa.

    Internet is at the core of Anais.AC business. ICANN related issues are therefore of critical importance to enable the organization play its leading role in the sub region.

    Yes.
